@airbenich Well having very low data storage requirements (with no more than one current status per user) the costs to run the platform will be low. I personally am a big fan of either patronage or subscriptions. I would potentially look at something like $2 a month/$20 a year. I think this way the user knows they are paying for a product and not slowly "becoming the product" if that makes sense.

ANOTHER UPDATE: Have added temporal commenting system. Users can comment on a friend's status but these comments will only exist as long as the status remains unchanged. As soon as the user changes their status the comments are deleted.

What would everyone think of the idea of having both a Private feed and a Public feed? This would allow you to post separate updates to either by choice. It would also lead to a lot greater discovery because the Public feed will contain posts from ALL users, not just friends. Thoughts?
