About

I run Other Waters Studio, a small design studio in Philadelphia, and I built unfenced.land, a free site that checks about 700,000 U.S. listings every week against official public-land maps and shows the homes and land that actually border national forest, BLM and state land. It started with my own search for land in the Poconos. I wanted a parcel I could walk out of and onto public ground, and finding one meant hours in county GIS maps checking whether “near state land” meant anything. Now the site does that check for every listing. My goal is to make it the place hunters, homesteaders and rural buyers start their search. I’m launching this week and would love feedback on what to measure next.

Unfenced - Land for sale that actually borders public land

Checks ~700,000 U.S. listings every week against official public-land maps and shows the ~13,600 homes and land parcels that actually touch national forest, BLM and state land. Each one is measured from its county parcel boundary: the shared edge in feet, drawn on a map, plus how much public land is behind it, elevation, road access, flood zone and wildfire hazard. Search by ZIP or state. Free, no account needed.
