What's the first thing you do when working on a new idea?
You have a new idea and it's on your mind, you want to get started, but where? What do you do first?
What do you think about experts calling to pause AI?
https://futureoflife.org/open-le... Top artificial intelligence researchers, the co-founder of Apple, and Elon Musk are among signatories of an open letter calling for companies to stop training powerful AIs. They argue that advanced AI could represent a profound change in the history of life on Earth, and companies should not be racing to unleash it. The letter calls for a six-month pause, providing time to decide whether developing things that might outnumber, outsmart, obsolete and replace us is a good idea. Meanwhile, a Goldman Sachs report suggested that generative AIs like GPT-4, the most advanced platform so far debuted, could automate away the equivalent of 300 million jobs, especially in legal and administrative work.
How to stay motivated and productive on your side project?
Hey there! I know firsthand how tough it can be to manage a side project. It can feel like you're spinning plates, trying to balance a full-time job, family responsibilities, and other commitments all while pursuing your passion project. It's easy to feel discouraged when progress is slow, and it can be tough to stay motivated when there are so many competing priorities. One thing that's help me is setting small goals and celebrating each accomplishment along the way. What methods do you use? How do you maintain momentum when progress is slow? How do you balance competing priorities?
What ways are you using to manage your stress?
I have struggled with bad sleep my entire life, but I have found a way to manage it that works for me. I take melatonin to help me fall asleep and stay asleep through the night. It has made a tremendous difference in my overall well-being and ability to manage stress.
In your opinion, what would be considered as a good MVP launch?
Say you ve launched your product s MVP, what would be considered as a successful first week/month?
How to test your AI product?
As AI has become a significant part of our lives, and becoming an integral part of software products, question comes to mind - how do you test it?
Or, maybe, the more important question is - can you test it?? Well, as some of our business partners and clients have come to the point where these questions require answers, I ve taken the liberty to dive into it. Lets, first of all, set the ground here:
AI is not the only component of your product.
Its probably the most unique one, but it is surrounded by some user interface (graphic, API or SDK), it probably saves some data to some kind of a DB. All of these components require testing, otherwise your product will lose its value. Now that we ve established that, how do you test the AI component?
Well, conceptually, you can t really know if the machine is right or wrong - that is its added value, it provides something the human brain cannot.
However, you can test the AI component, by using itself as a reference.
In software testing, we usually isolate one of the variables and test the code accordingly. So, lets say your AI component is trained by a certain data set. And you inject some kind of input values to retrieve a result. You can create a matrix, combining different input values and different training data sets, isolating each one at a time, and compare the results.
The combination of the results, crossing them and comparing them, will provide you great clarity of your AI s quality. There s still much to be learned and investigated here.
We are at the beginning of the road, but its an exciting one. We will let you know how it goes - follow me for future updates. Please share your thoughts about this concept, I d really like to get some more ideas from the crowd.
What is your motivation boost when things don’t go your way?
Good morning fellow Hunters!
I m having a low-energy morning.
Was wandering, what makes you keep going when things get rough, and don t go your way? Please, do share.
