The way I see it there are two possible options: 1. Connect to consumers existing social channels as done by TripAdvisor where users encouraged to Login with their Facebook account and as a result all their activity on TripAdvisor is broadcast to their Facebook network. 2. Build a loyal community as done by Couchsurfing where you have local meetups in cities all over the world on a weekly basis...
