Clipit is a web URL shortener with an accompanying browser extension that works across Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. Clipit also comes with a free API that developers could easily integrate into their projects. This project has been open sourced.

Hi PH, Nyior Clement here :-) I'm a junior software engineer. Clipit was birthed out of our believe that the steps required to shorten long URLs through a web interface are unnecessarily many. Clearly, there is an avoidable cost to opening up a new browser window, typing the the name of a URL shortener service, copy-pasting a link and then clicking the submit button just to shorten a URL.
