Professional 3D software expects middle-mouse-button navigation. MacBook trackpads don't have one.
For years, CAD users on Mac have been forced to either carry an external mouse, use awkward four-key modifier combinations, or fight with unreliable workarounds. Forum threads dating back to 2017 are filled with users pleading for a solution.

For 7 years, CAD forums have been filled with Mac users pleading for trackpad-friendly 3D navigation. FreeCAD gestures misfire constantly. OnShape only supports force-click. ZBrush has zero multi-touch support. SketchUp expects you to hold Ctrl+Cmd+Shift while dragging. The solutions that exist? BetterTouchTool is $22 and overwhelming. The Middle app costs $8 for something that should be free....
