1 New Idea/Month for 12 Months

About

I’m testing one business idea every month for a year—no fluff, no overthinking, just real execution. After 15+ years working 100% online, I’ve built funnels, sold courses, launched brands, and helped others grow. In recent years, I’ve focused on CRO—helping clients go from 0.79% to 2% conversion rates and turning scrappy startups into steady sellers through product page optimization. The Startup Year is my solution. One idea at a time. Built and shared in public. Follow if you’re into digital products, solopreneur experiments, and seeing what works (and what flops). Also learning to code at the ripe age of 50 😂

Aani Speech Practice & Play Back App - Personalized speech practice for aphasia recovery

Personalized speech practice for aphasia recovery. Build the words that 1.7M Americans have aphasia from stroke—they can think clearly but can't find the words. Generic speech apps force them through irrelevant drills. AANI flips this: you build word lists that matter to YOUR life—gardening terms, family names, your dog's commands. Practice with voice playback, compare recordings, then copy-paste words straight into texts. Image-to-words lets you capture vocabulary from photos. 100% personalized

CURATE - KonMari to your photo album & storage on iPhone

Your camera roll has 10,000 photos. You look at maybe 200. The rest? Expensive cloud storage hiding your actual memories. CURATE fixes this with swipe-based curation—left to delete, right to keep. We break your overwhelming library into bite-sized monthly missions so you actually finish cleaning. Everything's offline, nothing deleted until you confirm. Most users free up gigabytes in their first session and cut their iCloud bill. Stop storing junk. Start curating a gallery that sparks joy.

Which is more important: making a great product or doing effective marketing?

Hello, Product Hunt!
I vote for "marketing is more important!"
Recently, building has become really easy with the help of AI agents and tools like Cursor(thx Ai). I think the time and money needed to create a good product have significantly decreased thanks to various SaaS programs.
However, I still don t have any references to introduce to you ( ). I feel like I ve neglected marketing, which is more important than making the product. (Please tell me this is the real reason...) Especially for indie makers like me, marketing is the hardest part (I wish someone could do it for me! ).
Making a good product and promoting it are both important, and it s a pointless debate.
Still, making vs. marketing? What do you all think?
And if there are any cost-free ways for indie marketers or beginner marketers to try out, could you let me know?
