So so very useful. When I went on GOAP with 500 Startups I remember that #1 criteria for choosing a hotel was wifi. We were all doing work from our hotels. Just dropped them a note about it.

Brilliant is like tumblr for math. You can post, solve, reshare and like problems. It covers topics such as algebra, combinatorics, number theory, SAT prep etc. As a former math major I love to do problems for fun. Brilliant is addictive. Great tool for kids learning math at all levels too.

@RaphKomjat yes!!! very useful. As a candidate I would want this badly and push to get it out of them in the interview if they don't disclose it up front.

When I interviewed PM candidates in the past I would break up the interview into; introduction, recent work project, sample problem and conclude with any remaining questions. When discussing a recent project, the candidate should be able to explain their work clearly. I look for signs of leadership and initiative. What was a difficult situation they ran into and how did they handle it? Did they...

@ffumarola Andy Dunn wrote this great article http://bit.ly/1ka7fBS I'll quote him here 'The entire e-commerce P&L is architected to make it almost impossible for you to generate EBITDA.' By Andy's estimation, Zappos had 2% EBITDA margins at time of acquisition. No the study I'm citing is not available but here's something similar http://bit.ly/1rJOklp You can find more of same if you look in...

@ffumarola @guygal When you as a customer don't pay for shipping, the e-commerce company absorbs the cost. The benefits I enumerated come from a study of 3236 randomly chosen people answering a question about purchasing locally. Not arguing that online shopping isn't awesome but that a traditional e-commerce business finds it tough to generate operating profit at scale. This is why new and...

@guygal not convinced. Both Warby Parker and Bonobos stores showed meaningful business results. My bet is on intersection of e-commerce and bricks-and-mortar rather then pure online.

@guygal There is also a trend of online retailers opening physical stores (Warby Parker, Bonobos and Nasty Gal come to mind). Fascinating to watch things change :-)!

Wanted to share some of customer insights from working in this space. Most transactions today (estimates vary but number hovers around 90% ) are still offline. While eBay Now, Google Express, and others are experimenting, the delivery model has yet to be proven scalable. In the 90s it failed miserably with WebVan. Customer data shows that a sizable segment of buyers prefer to shop in stores....

Reminds me of Milo.com but with pickup. Welcome improvement to an antiquated shopping experience. I have to remember that this exists next time I go shopping.

@noahkagan agree with @scotthurff I just want headlines. The exact same product but for tumblr. I'm cheap though and would want to pay less. Also not sure I need it monthly. I would be interested in something like 100 headlines for $5.

I need this! Last week in Mexico City I had to do a lot of mental math. At some point I mistakenly tried to pay with Croatian Kunas since they looked similar to pesos. I want to see more about how the app works on the homepage before paying for it.
