We built this because researchers keep getting burned by ChatGPT and other LLMs making up citations. It's a real problem, cite papers that don't exist, waste hours chasing phantom sources, and some have even had papers retracted. Mimir is structurally different. We only pull answers from our corpus of 1M+ peer-reviewed materials science papers. If it's not in a real paper, Mimir won't say it....
