Building local-first developer tools

About

I build developer tools that prioritize local-first workflows, data ownership, and simplicity. Currently working on TiefWise, a fast, git-friendly API client designed to keep secrets off the cloud. I believe tools developers depend on daily should be transparent, auditable, and under their control.

Why we built TiefWise (and what we got wrong with API tools)

Hey everyone if you re curious about the philosophy behind this tool, I wrote a longer piece on why we built TiefWise:
https://microrapid.io/blog/why-w...

One thing I realized over 18+ years of API work is that tools often trade productivity for features and cloud lock-in.
I wanted something that stays local, works with git, and keeps debugging simple.

Would love to hear what part of your current API workflow you wish just felt easier.

TiefWise - A fast, local-first API client — no cloud, no accounts

TiefWise is a local-first API client designed for secure API testing in enterprise environments. It runs entirely on the developer’s machine, requires no accounts, and does not sync data to the cloud. Collections export to git-friendly folders for controlled collaboration and review. Key features include fast startup (<2s), export-time secret warnings, request preview, response comparison, and reliable cURL export. Free, macOS & Windows. Free, macOS & Windows.
