Building open-source AI tools

About

I’m a software engineer in London working on large-scale backend and infrastructure systems. I care about performance, reliability, latency, capacity planning, and making engineering workflows measurable. Recently I’ve been exploring AI-assisted development and the missing observability around it. That led me to build RepoSpend, an open-source, local-first dashboard that helps developers understand AI coding token usage by repo, session, model, and tool. I like practical tools that keep data local, reduce noise, and help engineers see where their time, tokens, and cost are really going.

RepoSpend - Track AI coding token usage by repo, model, and tool

RepoSpend is a free, open source, local first dashboard for tracking AI coding token usage and API equivalent cost by repo, session, model, provider, and tool. It helps developers understand where their Codex, Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, and Cursor usage is going, without uploading code or prompts. No login, no telemetry, just local visibility for AI assisted coding.
