I built an app that won't stop blocking your social medias until you study.

2 years ago, after 9 months of development, I launched FocusNPlay v1.0 (with 0 AI. I'm just that good). Initially it was just an app blocker. You run the timer, and it blocks-unblocks apps at intervals.
The NEW FocusNPlay is finally getting a re-launch! Study to Scroll!
The new version of FocusNPlay is FINALLY getting a re-launch on ProductHunt on Apr 14th.
Let me first ask: Would you want to quit doomscrolling, but also learn new skills fast and effortlessly at the same time?
An average person stares at their phones for 5 hours daily and does nothing else during those time. That's 1825 hours gone in a year!
My app's gonna solve it - reducing screentime by 3 hours, but also quadruples daily learning throughput at the same time.
Instead of simply blocking apps like other app blockers, FocusNPlay turns every unblock into a study opportunity you review flashcards before you're allowed to scroll again, so the time you would have wasted becomes time spent learning.
Why combining app blocking with flashcards? The technique itself taps into our psychology of the feedback loop - to earn the entertainment by doing something beneficial but otherwise tedious (i.e. learning). If not, we'd be taking scrolling for granted and kept on going.
Today, there are no more excuses for us to become smarter than ever, as there are all kinds of advanced techniques and methods available. But it's still a tough mission, because the distractions are what's really stopping us.
This is why I built FocusNPlay - to take control of the screen time itself, and turn it into opportunities of learning.
And these are the new features that will take care of it:
- Study to Scroll: Block your other apps until you finished a built-in study session.
- AI-Flashcard Generation: Generate any topic with just a few prompts.
