I am Manuel, and I am the solo founder, designer, and developer of the Locationscout website and iOS / Android apps. Why? In 2011, a chance meeting in San Francisco sparked the idea of Locationscout. After stumbling upon a breathtaking sunrise at Kirby Cove, which I would have never found without a personal recommendation, I set out to build a platform for hidden gems worldwide. Locationscout went live in 2014. Despite early challenges and zero initial US traffic, I persevered. And then a pivotal photo in Chicago opened countless doors, reinforcing my belief in how impactful the right community can be. I am now molding it into a sustainable business, supporting nature protection, and fostering a community that cherishes discovery and adventure.
