I am a Mechanical Engineer by training, currently work in Strategy Consulting and recently fell in love with software development. I am a self-taught Python developer and am working on Bolt an application to simplify the creation of capital and operational budgets. The problem I am tackling is the slow, tedious and manual process of generating cost data for budgeting. Bolt uses a proprietary database and crowd sourcing to generate cost information and automatically add it to Excel sheets, reducing the budgeting creation process from weeks or months to a few hours or day depending on project size and complexity.
