The app shows the translation in a popup, right where the text is, and can replace the original selected text with the translation. It can be used with almost any application, including even system controls - it is able to translate UI elements, like button titles, menu elements, even titles of the Dock icons!

MacLinguist is a quick translator for Mac and Windows, that shows a translation popup for any selected text by double-pressing "Control" key on the keyboard in any application in the system. Linguist can also replace currently selected text with the translation, by pressing an Option (Alt) key.
