Would you be interested in a more advanced course?

I've had such great feedback from the people who have taken the course and something that has come up a bunch is a desire for more advanced topics. So I was thinking, if I wrote a couple more courses, what would be most useful to you? Some suggestions so far:

  1. The ethics of AI

  2. Designing AI tools

  3. Prompt Engineering

Is there anything you'd love to learn more about?

some thoughts after my first day using windsurf. spoiler: i like the icons

I've been using @Spacemacs for a few years now. Recently, I started using @VS Code to "see what I was missing". I liked that linters and such seemed to work a bit smoother out of the box.
I kept hearing:

VSCode is dead, Cursor is the way.
Then I started hearing:

Windsurf is the way, Cursor is dead.
Today I used Windsurf for the full day. Some raw thoughts:
I like the icons!
Treating it like an "op autocomplete" was pretty powerful! It made refactoring and quick changes really really fast.
Asking it to make a bunch of changes doesn't flow well for me yet. I guess it's hard for me to grok the diffs quickly, and it just feels faster to be pushing code around myself. maybe this will change with experience.

When i wanted to "think hard" i found the autocomplete kind of annoying. i was trying to write some weird recursive code with bad variables names to quickly prototype. it would have been nice if I could say "chill out on the autocompletes until i finish this thought", maybe like a toggle somewhere? does this exist already?
the center pop up menu is cool.
how do i make the cascade drawer close from the keyboard? Cmd +B closes the left drawer -- something similar for "cascade" would be good to know.
overall, i enjoyed it. will use again tomorrow.

Getting Started. Re-introducing Myself

Hello PH community,

I had joined PH for a long time now but haven't been using it that much due to my busy schedule. I have been reading through products and also commenting on some I see prospects in before now though.

Hello from Aliaksei - a Poet and Startup Founder

Hello community!

My name is Aliaksei Rudak and I'm CEO of Lingvanex, a startup which makes machine translation and speech recognition solutions.

What's in your dock?

I was recently reminded of @Dockhunt and how fun it was to see what kinds of apps different folks kept in their dock. I remember it being a cool way to discover some new products I hadn't seen before. I'm also just a big fan of desktop apps over web apps. I find it a lot easier to stay focused when I'm flipping between apps vs flipping between tabs.

These are the apps in my dock:

  • @Google Chrome - Pretty basic. I've really been considering switching over to @Horse though.

  • @Slack - The de facto option.

  • @Superhuman - Maybe the fastest I've become a fan of a product. I think I was pushing it on others within a few hours.

  • @Notion - Great for documentation and collaborating. I also use it personally for tracking books I read and video games I play, along with tracking personal projects.

  • Notion Calendar - The menu bar aspect of this is really what sold me. It makes it so much easier to stay on top of my meetings every day.

  • @Linear - We just recently switched over to Linear here at @Product Hunt and I've been loving it. Pro tip: if you prefer the desktop app, there's a setting to open links in the app, but you can only set that option through the web version.

  • @iTerm2 - I've tried others, but this is my favorite. This + @Neovim is just

  • @Claude by Anthropic - This has been my LLM of choice for a while, and I really like having it as a desktop app. Especially the keyboard shortcut to quickly bring it up and ask something.

  • @Tandem - Super easy to stay in touch and sync with teammates. Incredibly useful for a remote team.

  • @Spotify - I typically have a YouTube video on in the background, but if I'm writing or doing something more focused, I'll typically have some kind of Jazz going.

Can anyone recommend an AI audio survey tool?

I'm looking for tools to help me brief clients and get their answers in voice format. Recently, I found @Yapz It really impressed me. Simple to use, the delightful format of briefing people, only a positive experience. The only downside is that I cannot see the whole call transcript, which is crucial for me. Are there any free/cheap AI alternatives that makes summaries of answers and saves transcripts at the same time?

Design challenges impacting SaaS growth: What are some of the things you're facing?

Hey fellow PH folks,

After 25+ years in design and selling my own design system; Cabana for a six-figure exit (maybe more next time ;), I've noticed consistent patterns in how specific design issues directly impact key SaaS metrics.

I'm curious: What design-related challenges are currently impacting your product's growth? For example:

  • User activation below expectations

  • Feature discovery problems

  • Conversion bottlenecks

  • Retention issues tied to product experience

What AI agents do you have running in production?

There are so many new AI agent platforms ( @Wordware @Lindy @CrewAI @zapier and so on) that I'm finding myself curious how everyone is using them.

What AI agents are you using in production? What do they do? Are they working and reliable? What would make them better? Are they replacing roles? Augmenting existing ones?

My issue with Chakra 3 is that llm's are bad at it

Title says it all, but in general i find that llm's are pretty bad with v3 components.
both prop names and the general composition of components seem to have sufficient variance from v2 that the llm's often use the "wrong" paradigm.
i like chakra, how can i use my tools more effectively so that it works well with gen ai?
do you have context you set, or do you constantly mentioned you are using v3?
appreciate any tips :)
