What makes a product go #1?
As the title says, what does Product Hunt consider when rating the #1 product?
For example, my product is currently #2, with 80 more upvotes and 60 more comments than the current #1 product.
Any other inputs we should consider while there's still time to try to win?

Hybrid might be the best for me (1-2 days in the office) as it gives needed flexibility + a human connection. But if I had to choose, remote work all the way.
Nothing can beat the flexibility you have with remote work and not needing to spend 1h+ commuting.

A product launch ranking higher than it's supposed to?
Today's launch shows two products battling it out for #1 "Design Studio VS impaction.ai".
The weird thing about these launches is that impaction.ai has 50+ more upvotes than Design Studios, but they are behind on the leaderboard.
What could be happening?
The first thought was botting, but doesn't seem like it.
Any ideas, as this could impact any of our launches?

Currently, PH doesn't offer any type of connecting/friending people nor chatting 1:1.
I personally connect with people on LinkedIn and take the conversation from there.

Have you changed the Twitter logo to X on your website, signature, bio...
It's almost a week since the logo change. Are you up with the times or do you still hold on to the old Twitter logo?
Personally, I can't get myself to do it, the old logo was so iconic.
I guess in a month people will start changing the Twitter logo everywhere they have it websites, bios, email signatures, in-app...

I'm not a fan of the rebrand and the new logo. The Twitter bird was iconic and represented what the platform was all about.
Tweeting has become engrained in our language, like when you say "Just Google it", everyone understood what Tweeting was. I can't imagine anyone saying "Hey, I'll X my opinion on this topic."
As for the new features, some of them look cool, some are concerning.

Do you ever un-upvote products?
I do.
I usually upvote products to keep tabs on them until I give them a try.
After that if don't like the product, or don't see the value in it I usually un-upvote them.
This keeps my product library clean with quality products.
I can't stand having 3242 products in my library.

Asking for support on launch day is killing your chances of going #1!
Time and time again I get messages from fellow makers asking for support on their launch day.
That's no way to get support.
I might be busy, on vacation, or just don't appreciate these kinds of messages.
Even worse, connect with me on LinkedIn with a "Support my launch!" message.
I'm all up for supporting fellow makers, but you need to prepare your network and audience days, even weeks...

Your thoughts on the new "Hidden Upvote Hours" on PHs home page?
Did you notice that for the first 4 hours of the day, all products on the home page have their upvotes hidden to give every product a fair chance?
Personally, I like the idea.
How it has been done up until now.
Big products rile up their communities in the first few hours and get to the top, and the average PH user will only look at the top 5-10 products.
