This app was created to replace a spreadsheet that contained my monthly contributions to several investment accounts. I would manually calculate yearly returns to see which account performed the best and which strategy worked. So i created an app that facilitates that for any investor going through the same situation.
There are alternatives that allow you to specify stock tickers or even connect your brokers into them. The idea of Netto is not to connecting any of your accounts for security.
