What's great
As a designer, the workspace, the artboards, and drawing tools all felt right at home for me. (Affinity V2 user here!) I recall seeing Penpot on an open source repository and decided to get my toes wet. I wish I knew Penpot existed in community college because it's out of Adobe's ecosystem for me to learn on my own terms! It is nice to see how design elements are rendered into code using Penpot. Penpot is the way to go for designers looking for a no-code prototyping tool with no barrier to entry.
What needs improvement
A dedicated desktop app for Windows and MacOS
A big one @Penpot: please add variable font support!
More in-depth onboarding inside a project for the first time. I made a vertical guide and didn't know how I did it, so I would like more of a walkthrough on commands such as that.
vs Alternatives
I was hard pressed for an alternative to Framer, because, although there is a plethora of content to learn from, the pricing is a reservation I have for Framer.
