Built something after getting tired of seeing startups share .env files in Slack and Notion 😅

Vaultlite is a lightweight secrets manager for startups and small engineering teams:

  • secure API key & env management

  • browser-side encryption

  • zero-knowledge architecture

  • GitHub/CI-friendly workflows

  • no enterprise DevOps complexity

Why is secrets management still so painful for startups?

Over the last few months, while building VaultLite, I kept noticing the same pattern across small engineering teams:

  • .env files shared in Slack

  • production keys sitting in Notion

  • API credentials copied between teammates manually

  • secrets managed through random Google Docs
