Is Augmented Reality (AR) finally useful for outdoor sports?
We've seen a lot of AR gimmicks, but I've been working on implementing AR for mountain wayfinding (literally pointing your phone at a lift to see where it goes). For those building in the outdoor space: do you think AR is ready for mass adoption in extreme weather (cold/bright sun), or is it still too clunky? Would love to hear your thoughts on the UX challenges.
What's the most frustrating part of navigating ski resorts?
Hey PH community! 👋 I'm an avid snowboarder and I've always hated how paper maps get wet/torn, and static PDF maps on phones are impossible to read in bright sunlight (plus, they don't show you where you are!). I'm building a 3D solution for this, but I'm curious—what do you use right now? Strava? Slopes? Or just old-school signs? What features are you missing most?
