Does posting rejected threads hurt you on product hunt? how does approval actually work?

Had a thread rejected recently, still not fully sure why.
Got me wondering about a few things and figured i'd just ask directly instead of guessing.

Does getting a thread rejected affect your account in any way, algorithm, visibility, standing, anything like that? or is it just a one-off, no consequence, try again kind of thing?

Also curious how the approval process actually works. is it a human reviewing each thread, some automated filter, a mix of both? trying to understand what actually triggers a rejection so i'm not accidentally repeating the same mistake without knowing what it was.

If anyone from the team or anyone who's been rejected before can share how this actually works, would genuinely appreciate it.

Ai content is why nobody trusts founders anymore

Strong claim, hear me out.

Every founder update reads the same now. "excited to share," emoji bullets, fake vulnerability about the rollercoaster. doesn't matter if it's real or not, it all sounds identical.

Noticed this hard while hiring. read every dm myself for a growth role. most were obviously ai-generated, same tone, zero thought put in. the ones that stood out were rough, specific, clearly written by someone who actually looked at the problem first.

Think the same thing's eating founder credibility. people used to trust a post because it sounded like someone actually figured something out.

What number did you track that turned out to mean nothing?

Mine was Semrush's Authority Score. It went from 2 to 5 in a few weeks on a side project and I read it as progress.

Then I pulled the backlink list instead of trusting the summary number. 116 referring domains, up from before. The count of real follow links, the ones search engines actually treat as a vote, was exactly 4. Same as three weeks earlier. Not one more.
