Quick Update from Kestern
I ve been working on a few things this past week and after finding incredible advice from fellow makers, I thought I'd discuss them here! I ve been talking to the people using Kestern every day, creatives, freelancers, small agencies and a lot of what's coming next came straight from those conversations. I d like to give a shoutout to Konstantin Borimechkov for sharing Paul Graham s essays here, as that s what gave me the idea to be so attentive to Kestern s users & it s worked wonders! I m making my way but I intend to read the entire lot. Working off the same idea, we launched a community discord server for Kestern users today. It's a place to talk, share what's working and more crucially, what isn't, and (upcoming) get early access to features we're building. Here s a link if you want to join BTW. On the product side, the no-login client portal is doing what it was built to do. We're keeping that front and centre while we work on what comes next (The product hunt launch!!)
If you're in the creative or service space handling client work and haven't checked us out yet: kestern.co.uk. I m looking forward to launching soon.
Hey Product Hunt 👋 I'm Owen. (Looking for launch advice)
Long-time lurker, first-time poster, and honestly, being here feels a bit like coming home.
I've been building and designing things since I was 15. Taught myself to code, fell in love with graphic design, and somewhere in there ended up running an online forum with 30,000 members. I was never a deep engineer - mostly front-end, HTML, CSS, a little PHP - but the itch to make things never left.
Then in 2017, I spent years in sales and kept seeing the same thing: great people doing work customers loved, and all that proof just vanishing. A text here, a screenshot there, a review on a platform that owns it. Each piece too small to matter on its own.
I knew exactly what needed to exist. I just couldn't build something that ambitious on my own back then so I carried the idea for nine years until I finally could.
What are the most important checklist items for a Product Hunt launch
In your own recent experience, what are the top 1-3 things people should keep in mind for a Product Hunt launch. I am making this post hoping the comments and discussions cut through the "noise" of what's important.
It seems like the Product Hunt platform is changing and there are new special launch days like Alpha Day, to be aware of. It would be awesome to get fresh perspectives on what works well right now for planning and executing a successful launch.
