Someone dies, and suddenly one person in the family is holding everything together fielding calls, organizing a service, figuring out how to pay for it, keeping everyone informed while also just trying to grieve. It's one of the hardest coordination problems a person can face. And there's no real system for it. Just group texts, GoFundMe links, and improvisation at the worst possible moment.
There is a strange irony I have been sitting with lately.
I am building an app specifically to help young people feel less alone. And yet, some of the loneliest moments I have experienced have been in the past year, building it.
