Love workfrom! They have been helping me working from cool places, first IRL in Chicago and now virtually. It's the place I go to for deep work.

A fellow writer-friend recommended Foster to me. It has helped me: - clarify ideas and arguments through feedback from others - fix weird sentence structure (English isn’t my mother tongue) - develop a better writing strategy thanks to editing other people’s articles

FosterA better way to write.

Love that my inbox is now free of emails. If I would send the newsletters to a different email I know I wouldn't read them. This works perfectly for me.

Sticky studio is a super simple collaborative whiteboard. I'm planning to use it with my students next year as they'll not get distracted by other features (it was a nightmare with Mural).

I had a chat with someone about my work and she became my first paid subscriber.

I have been using this for more than a year. Great for staying on task or co-working with others. I also used it with my kids during lock-down to balance study and gaming time. It was less effective with them as they changed work time to 10 minutes and break time to 30 minutes :-)

Hi Rosie, 1. When should you not start a community? What are the wrong reasons to do so (kind of similar to what @mspseudolus asks) 2. What data (if any) is most helpful to understand what is going on in your community?
I'm Rosie, I've built a 7 fig business, led community at IH, now building a community @Orbit. AMA 🔥

I used Softr recently and was blown away by how easy it is. I used other no-code tools before and like how easy this one is.

Under-resourced parents: with enough sleep (!), financial and mental resources parents would make better decisions for their children, be able to raise better humans.

Journaling and reflective writing prompts that help you
What are some journaling/reflective writing prompts that have helped you or that you answer often/daily? My one is "How do I feel" That one normally opens the door to other things. Other prompts I use: - What strong emotional learning did you have from this? (I dreamed this question) - What world should your grand-children live in? (got this from a TedTalk on future literacy) - What aspect of...

Currently reading Antifragile by Nassim Taleb. Part of it is repetitive and I skip it. But made me more aware of my patterns/habits (good and bad). I'm now more conscious about trying to break them and see what happens.
What's your current read?

I know what you mean. If you can, try to block time to look at your email and only check them at that time. Communicate this with your team and let them know how they can reach you in case of emergencies. I turn off all notifications of non-essential apps (all except Whatsapp and sms)

The past year a lot of people have adopted the habit of traveling local, supporting local etc. Based on that I'd say that travel will be more within a country than across country. Of course that does not apply to people who live in border regions (at least within Europe). Another thing that might happen is that people travel slower. Not 2 weeks holidays, but 4 weeks holidays + work. Fewer...

I tried to separate personal and professional success but it just doesn't work. I'm a single working mother and so success is related to this: Being able to take the day off, pick up the girls from school and say "screw work, we go to the beach/mountain/mall today". It's about freedom, but also from constraints society puts on you. I don't live up in the clouds (or below a rainbow - as I'm...

I'd love to hear other people's approach to dealing with annoying admin tasks that need to be done, aren't that big & shouldn't take too long. I put 'renew kids passport' into my agenda this morning, but after 3 hours haven't yet started it. Maybe because it's not yet urgent?
