About

Corporate America professional - engineer, strategist, programs orchestrator. More importantly a family guy - husband, dad of 2 kids and a dog. Occasional volunteer at non-profits. Side hustle of making apps - mostly for the kids to do fun stuff (check out pantrygames.com or tableofwords.com). Of late I have become very curious about packaged foods or ultra-processed foods. I am working on some ideas in this area. Latest project is Capzicum - a food ingredients scanning browser extension.

Introducing browser extension Capzicum, a food scanner informed by premium brands' clean list

I'd love y'all's feedback on Capzicum, a food scanning browser extension. There are apps like Yuka, Boby Approved and Olive in the mobile ecosystem to scan physical food packages to understand food quality.

But nothing reliable exists for those interested in checking ingredients while browsing on the desktop. Capzicum hopes to solve this.

Capzicum - food scanner in your lap - Leverage premium grocery brands' ingredients curation

Capzicum helps you shop smarter by instantly flagging ingredients that premium grocery retailers ban from their "Clean" labels. Key Features: Instant Scanning: Highlight ingredients on any website or paste text to check instantly. Retailer Comparison: Checks against "Avoid Lists" from Whole Foods, H-E-B Select, Kroger Simple Truth, Safeway Open Nature, and Center for Science in the Public Interest (CSPI).

tableofwords - Speech-to-text fun for early graders learning to read

This web app's goal is to provide a fun way to learn reading. Early grade students (K to 2) can speak words or sentences from a table and earn points & digital stickers as rewards. The key feature is speech-to-text. The API is from W3C implemented on Chrome (except iPhone and iPad).
