My side projects contain the components of the larger project. For example, GymTools.io came into existence to teach me how to launch a PWA. The lessons learned went applied directly to JustFitness.io. Now that I've found a way to publish PWAs to the App Store and Play Store, I'll apply the cycle once more.

I made it myself. It's not great, but it's good enough. I'll hire a pro once it matters more.

I use Discord to communicate with friends and family. Though it's marketed toward Gamers, It's a really powerful, text, voice, video, and screen sharing application. I really have a hard time using anything else.

I'll consider myself a success when I can quit my job and work on my projects full time. Luckily my expenses a really low and I'm a minimalist.
