Self hosting setup is not going to be easy for the average user. But with a bit of effort, and using Digital Oceans' one-click installation - you're good to go! The one thing that made me jump - was the membership/subscription/email feature inbuilt. I'm just keeping fingers crossed for the Ghost Team to start including other currencies like the ₹ - let's see.

Having been with wordpress for so long, I can definitely feel the bloat. I've also been watching Nolan's progress since the start of Ghost. And I'm really impressed with what they've done with version 3.0 - particularly memberships/subscriptions. @andy_didorosi great move! love the simplicity of basecamp, but since you guys are also targeting freelancers - wouldn't it be good to give them a limited version of 1) Company intranet + team collaboration 2) Project templates (for similar projects) or at least 3) Advanced client access (you control what they see) ?

I was using Newton, and was fed up of waiting for Superhuman to launch. So decided to give Spark a try. What more can you say, it's free! Highly customizable, the new 2.0 version is great as it integrates calendar right into the app, so you don't have to switch all the time. Time to retire fantastical?
