Please set expectations about signup/data before you provide tools that engage the user. If I start using a tool and a barrier to entry is to create an account before I get started/any value has been delivered, all good. But if I start using the tool and then out of nowhere - to continue you want a sign-up, I will walk away. I do not like the tease and it sets the tone that you'll hide features...
