Firegate is an inline network security device that sits between your modem and router.
It inspects and filters traffic in real time using Suricata, without relying on cloud services.
Everything runs locally: IPS, DNS filtering, and threat blocking.
No cloud. No data collection. No subscriptions.
One surprise while building it was how much probing hits a normal home network.

Hey everyone 👋 I built Firegate after noticing how much unsolicited traffic and probing hits even a normal home network. Most solutions rely on cloud processing, but I wanted something that runs fully locally with no data leaving the network. Curious to hear thoughts — especially from people running homelabs or managing small networks.
