I think great journalists 50 years from now will be able to write a story by blinking their eyes. All kidding aside all journalists now need to think about creating multi-media stories and doing that on your own. You need to be a one man band these days. It is hard, but it is the direction we are going.

I tell young writers this all the time—just write. You have to write every single day and you have to make it a habit. Put it out there. Make your own blog and then find a way to make yourself useful to an editor. Master something no one else has, work harder than everyone else.

I didn't actually work in fashion. Lucy did for years. When we first started writing together she didn't know how to turn on her iPad....she had her 10 year old give her lessons. Now she is pretty much a TechBitch.

I was a daily newspaper reporter for years. I interned at the NY Times and then had a staff job at the NY Daily News. I started doing digital fairly early. The schedule is more fast-paced obviously....the skill set is entirely different. For me the issue has always been how to maintain awesome journalism in such a sped up environment. And then how do you get people to see it.
