We created KeyDB to get more out of our hardware. We were extremely happy with Redis' stability and ease of use but hated the complexity of sharding and setting up clusters because Redis couldn't take advantage of the hardware. KeyDB is multithreaded and can offload infrequently accessed items to FLASH dramatically lowering TCO.
