In my career, the biggest challenge has been getting buy-in from the Executives and Management chain. If they just don't like remote work and want you in the office, it ends up being nothing more than a frustrating experiment. It can be frustrating when a competitor with seemingly unlimited resources pushes their way into your space. However, you can also view it as justification of what you are building. Get to know their product and its weaknesses and try to fill in the gaps with your own product. You can often find public message boards where customers are complaining about missing features and long running...

Figuring out compliance, payroll and taxes can be burdensome for remote companies. Many choose to hire workers as "contractors", pushing the headaches to the worker and lower the burden on the company. Having workers in multiple US states can also be a headache. Thumbs up to any company that helps solve this problem! :)

Great job, Kona Crew (Krew?). Building team culture on remote teams can be difficult. Understanding how everyone on the team is feeling can go a long way to improving empathy.
