I like the variety, one-moment writing content, the next strategising sales and the next implement tracking tools. My days are rarely the same.

For me it's that no 2 days are the same. You don't just feel like you are a cog in the wheel and you get to see the results of your hard work pretty quickly. Also that you don't get trapped in a box, in early stage start-ups its all hands on deck.

I think it can be good and bad. The good is having someone you trust for support and no judgement. But, it can lead you to not make as much effort with others and if you, or they move on to other opportunities it can leave you feeling a little lost.

I get distracted just as much at the office tbh. I think a dedicated workspace helps. Breaking up the day with exercise or walks. Appreciating that its better than commuting and having to make it work as you have a better life is a big motivator.

It's an old one that I'm trying to get back to, wine tasting. Also after years of yoga and pilates, I'm now mixing it up with some HIIT training which I'm surprisingly loving. Also a return of hiking after enjoying it over the holidays.

It's been a phase for me for a decade. For sure it has pros and cons but for me the good far out weighs the bad
What are your views on remote work? Is this the future or just a phase?

Be aware that your goals and dreams may change over time and that's ok. You don't need to hang onto something that no longer works for you just because it took an effort to get there.

Having no commute, being able to work out as a break, being able to work from different places (I don't live in my home country so travel regularly to see family), eating when I want and what I want (every time I visit an office I'm kinda forced to abide by a lunch at 1 pm or whatever the routine is, regardless if I'm hungry or not with lack of options).

I would tell my younger work self to be ok with my own boundaries and it's not rude to enforce them

I normally switch to some task that needs immediate attention that is more repetitive admin based that doesnt require a great deal of thought, I find when switching back to the creative task I generally get into a creative flow. Plus procrastination is followed by panic of a hard deadline and the urgency also unblocks. The second isnt great but it is what it is.
How do you overcome creative block?

I don't mind them, like any meeting if there is a clear agenda then they are a lot more tolerable, in-house meetings to me can be just as tiring. I was working for remote teams way before Covid hit so it's now just normal to me thankfully. Anything that means not commuting is a plus.

I think it really helps both. It also personally helps me for self-reflection. If I'm not looking forward to going back to work then I try and sit and pinpoint why, then work out what I can change for the better. Sometimes you just get used to over riding feelings day to day to just get stuff done and break maybe puts a spotlight on that.

For me both. It depends on how my attention span is on the day. I like video for an overview if it's short and sweet.

I have a 2 year old daughter. The socialisation starts at that age. For eg, not work related but when there is a costume day at nursery 9 out of 10 girls are princesses and the boys had a great range from lions, to super heros etc. Mine went as a bug and loved it but she was practically the only non princess. I make a concious effort to introduce lots of things to her world, like tool kits and...
