When my daughter was 12 years old, we tried a few different "learn HTML" web courses. She said the Khan Academy course was the easiest to get started with and is the one she ultimately finished.

Scratch is a programming language created by the Media Lab at MIT for teaching children how to code and animate using visual blocks. It is the inspiration for a number of other block based programming educational products that have come along after it. I use Scratch during my career day presentations to K-7th graders to demonstrate how easy it is to get started making something cool.

It seems like besides just tracking work with WorkingOn, I could use it to incentivize myself to keep a streak or chain of work going like on Github or Duolingo. Do you have people using WorkingOn like this or data around that type of behavior? It seems like a really powerful motivator.

WorkingOn 2.0Minimalistic progress tracking for teams.

Cool. This addresses a very real problem. Currently the effort required to help our users get our integration set up correctly inside their Slack team is really high touch. I'm looking forward to using this!

I have found the discussions on a Founder Dating Discuss to be invaluable. There was a great one about the difference between a CTO and a technical cofounder that I found enlightening.

This is pretty amazing. GIFs are by far the most portable "video" format at the moment. I'm glad to see Youtube isn't following in IMGUR and Giphy's footsteps of sharing flash based videos of GIFs.

Team @wedgies uses and loves Sqwiggle. Conversations over slack tend to get sidetracked when someone posts a sweet GIF. Face to face communication is just so much better and concise.

Hackathons completely changed the way I viewed my career as a software engineer. Creating and launching something in a weekend and then going back to work at a government contractor where features were on a 18 month waterfall plan really opened my eyes to what I wanted to do with my life. I love the way MLH is setting up a repeatable process to make sure hackathons reach even more people.

Ah, our designer just got really mad at me because I forgot to share this in my comment. This is a creation flow we tested a few months ago with a similar premise. Still requires hitting a submit button. I like the way Tally just creates the poll right there. https://www.wedgies.com/anonask

Howdy. I wanted to see what I could do with the Pebble accelerometer and the ability to make HTTP requests from the Pebble via the iOS app. I'm really interested in the idea of our physical actions triggering effects in remote systems and this was a fun way to do it and gather a lot of data. I gathered 82 high fives with my left hand and 0 with my right hand during demos. By saving that data to...
