I think the difference between Airdrop and Piover is the privacy and the possibility to use out of internet connection. Airdrop is a peer to peer wifi direct service that working without a centralized server and this in a really good thing. So this service is more like Send Anywhere with a great interface but I didn’t notice any information about encryption of files.
