Congrats to the M team @davidmarcus! Been using M for a while and have had nothing but amazing experiences so far. Can't wait to see how M grows, but for now, M has been extremely useful!

The proximity sensor as a trigger to record is very interesting. When you watch the video, you can tell Casey, @mhkt and team have thought about the reason for doing so, and not implementing it for shiggles because it's a novel and unique idea. Will be very interested to see if this interaction pattern takes off. Also FWIW, it took Snapchat 4 years to remove tap-and-hold-to-view and change it...

Tons of GIF content being shared on Tumblr. Interesting to figure out the logic of how long each GIF loops for and what happens when a GIF > 8 sec. I can easily see the team flipping the switch and turning this into a lean-back experience of viral videos shared on the platform. Nice!

This is big for Messenger and FB. The foundation's been set, and now it's time to build. Super underrated app. I wonder if this would've been much trickier if Messenger stayed within the FB app.

Extremely excited by this @mikeyk! Seems like they're setting up for a suite of photo/video tools. Quantity of content is great, but quality content will be killer. Pairing unique tech, like Hyperlapse, with their innovative UX and flows, https://speakerdeck.com/mikeyk/secrets-to-lightning-fast-mobile-design, I'd be more inclined to use IG's services than many third-party ones.

Absolutely makes sense to use Messenger. There are many times where some friends use Venmo, others use PayPal, but they all have Facebook, so this'll probably be our go-to. On the other hand, there are several use cases where Venmo might have the upper hand. I find myself sometimes paying friends-of-friends when we're in larger groups, and the "Nearby" feature comes in handy. I haven't tried to...

Relatively seamless first broadcast! Awesome that it falls back to audio-only if connection is bad, but might be nice if it mentions whether the broadcaster or viewer is the one who needs a boost in connection. Good luck @benrbn!
