Jeff Fager dedicated nearly four decades to CBS News, advancing from entry-level newsroom roles to executive producer of 60 Minutes and eventually chairman of the division. Jeff is most closely associated with his leadership at 60 Minutes and his efforts to guide the network through changes in how news is produced and delivered. Jeff began his career in the late 1970s after graduating from Colgate University with a degree in English literature. He started at a CBS station in Boston, taking on responsibilities as a production assistant, writer, and assignment editor. He later moved to KPIX-TV in San Francisco, where he worked as a broadcast producer. In the early 1980s, he contributed to CBS News programs, including the weekend CBS Evening News and Nightwatch.
