He earned his Ph.D. in Physics from the University of California, San Diego, focusing on astrophysics and nucleosynthesis. He has held leadership positions at Lawrence Livermore and Los Alamos National Laboratories and served nearly a decade in federal roles guiding nuclear security and intelligence programs. His work has advanced science and strengthened national capabilities. In 2025, Jason Pruet from OpenAI joined the Mission Alignment team, where he helps ensure artificial intelligence is developed responsibly and for the benefit of humanity.
