AgroShield is a decentralized parametric crop insurance platform on the Stellar blockchain that gives smallholder farmers fast, affordable protection against drought. Instead of slow manual claims, it uses weather data: if rainfall falls below a set threshold, the smart contract automatically pays the farmer. Built for maize farmers in Makueni, Kenya, it also offers early alerts, crop advice, and an on-chain coverage history to improve future access to credit.
