I m one of those people who ended up using GPT for almost everything. Planning, writing, organizing, random ideas and recently, one of those things turned out to be managing my money. I ve always found budgeting annoying. I ve tried so many apps before and always gave up after a week or two. Too many buttons, too much effot, add this and that and still dont hav data on What i should add So around six months ago, I built something small for myself. it s been surprisingly helpful (I m still budgeting xD). This one works because it s so dumbly simple that I actually use. It s kind of simple, and honestly a bit stupid at the same time. I just started using the power of GPT to track my spending. I literally tell it things like: I spent 45 MAD on lunch. Add 120 MAD groceries yesterday. and it just does the job. GPT figures out what I mean, records the expense, adds the category, and updates my totals. Nothing fancy, no dashboards or complex rules, it s just me talking, and GPT handling the boring part. Under the hood, it s connected to my own backend. The GPT extension talks to an exposed API endpoint I built, those endpoints connect to a small database where all my expenses, categories, and summaries are stored. So when I say something, GPT doesn t just reply, it actually calls those endpoints, saves the data, and updates everything in real time. And here s the funny thing: every budgeting app out there has a polished interface, lists of transactions, colorful graphs, goals, and statistics, but none of that really matters if you stop using it after a week. I just wanted something that felt effortless. No UI, no taps, no setup, just talk, and it understands. Basically, GPT is the face, but the brain and memory live in my backend. It s small, but it actually works. And for the first time ever, I m still tracking my spending six months later. I showed it to a few friends and family and they all said the same thing: you should make it public. I m not sure yet. It s small, simple, and maybe a bit too minimal for most people. But yeah it works. I don t know, maybe I ll put it out there soon.
