I purchased a Nomad Insurance policy from SafetyWing (underwritten by Tokio Marine HCC) while traveling in Europe. I submitted a legitimate claim for a simple medical expense (100 EUR), including all required documents: medical report, prescription, invoice, receipt, and my insurance card. Despite following all instructions and sending everything multiple times, the company kept asking for more clarification and delayed the process for months. In the end, they refused the refund, giving vague explanations and requesting documents that had already been provided. Customer service was unhelpful, responses were slow and generic, and it feels like they are simply avoiding reimbursement. They only respond publicly when you leave negative reviews—I posted a complaint on Trustpilot, and they immediately asked me to contact them again. I followed up as requested but once again received no reply. It seems they just want to appear responsive in public while continuing to ignore you behind the scenes. I do not recommend this insurance provider. It’s cheap but when you actually need it, they do not deliver.
