Built it because reconciliation gaps between settled transfers and ledger state are a real, recurring pain for payment teams — and most of the tooling around agentic finance skips the audit layer that regulated environments actually require. Idem gives AI agents an MCP server to reconcile transactions, roll back mismatches with compensating transactions, and write HMAC-signed audit trails before execution completes. Self-hosted, open source, running against a real ledger via docker-compose — not a hosted black box.
