Why do most anonymous chat apps become social networks?

One thing I noticed while trying different anonymous chat apps is that many of them eventually become filled with profiles, followers, premium features, and endless feeds.

At that point, they stop feeling like anonymous chat apps and start feeling like another social network.

Do you think people actually want all those extra features, or would you rather have a simple app where you can instantly start a one-to-one conversation with a stranger?

I'd love to hear what everyone thinks. What's the one feature you'd keep, and what's the first thing you'd remove?

Whisper : 1-to-1 Chat App - Your Words. Your Privacy.

Whisper Chat is a privacy-first anonymous chat app built for simple, one-on-one conversations. No profiles, no followers, no public feeds—just instant connections with real people. Fast, lightweight, and designed to let conversations happen without the noise of traditional social media.
