Why Build-in-Public Became a Spam Problem

Build-in-public started as a genuinely good idea.

Be transparent. Share your journey. Let people watch you build something from nothing. The openness creates accountability, builds audience, attracts early users who care about the product before it launches.

For a lot of builders, it worked exactly like that.

Then it became a content strategy.

We got #2 product of the day as a bootstrapped startup - thank you PH community!!!

What a day!

Yesterday, Honestly launched on Product Hunt and finished with 480 upvotes and 130 comments, placing us among the top products of the day.

We ultimately finished 2nd and, more importantly, we had the opportunity to share our vision with thousands of founders, marketers, and product builders who believe customer feedback should be honest and accessible.

We are thankful beyond words for the support we received

I said "never again" to hardware

I said "never again" to hardware.

I meant it. I had done it before. I know what hardware costs, not just in money, but in decisions you make at 2am about components that may or may not arrive, about inventory that ties up capital for months before a single unit ships. When I moved into SaaS, the relief was real. Software scales. Software does not sit in a warehouse.
