What's the biggest obstacle preventing AI from delivering company-wide ROI?

Many organizations have adopted AI across different teams.

Marketing has its own tools.

Sales has another.

Support has another.

What's the most repetitive part of the SDR workflow that AI should automate?

Everyone says AI is replacing SDRs.
From the conversations I've had with sales teams, I think it's more likely to replace the repetitive work than the people.
Think about where an SDR's time actually goes:
Researching prospects
Switching between LinkedIn, CRM, and email tools
Personalizing outreach
Managing follow-ups
Updating CRM records
By the time all of that's done, there's often less time left for actual conversations with prospects.
It made me wonder if we're asking the wrong question.
Instead of asking, "Will AI replace SDRs?", maybe we should ask:
"Which parts of the sales workflow should AI automate, and which parts should always stay human?"
Personally, I think relationship-building, discovery calls, and negotiation still benefit from a human touch. But prospect research, follow-ups, CRM updates, and drafting personalized outreach seem like strong candidates for automation.
I'd love to hear your perspective.
If you could automate just one part of the SDR workflow, what would it be and why?
