It's a great tool to have around when you're learning to 3D print things. Most 3D modeling apps aren't built for 3D printing; they're built for making models for video games/movies, and thus don't worry about things like impossible (manifold) edges that will make your 3D printer freak the heck out. For relatively simple objects, Tinkercad saves hours.
