LocalScribe. Transcribe locally on Mac. - Talk is text. Record conversations, transcribe on-device.

LocalScribe is a macOS app I built to capture conversations and turn them into text you keep. It records both sides (your mic and the other party), then transcribes and separates speakers on-device with Whisper or Parakeet. Apple silicon only: the models run locally and nothing leaves your Mac. Made for people who curate their own local knowledgebase. The transcript lands as plain text in a folder you pick. Telling people you're recording is your responsibility. No cloud. No subscription.

DesktopVisionMCP. Show, don't tell. - Stop describing your screen or pasting screenshots to AI.

You describe your screen to your assistant. You screenshot it, crop it, paste it, and still leave out the thing that mattered. DesktopVisionMCP lets it look instead. A macOS menu bar app and a plain MCP server, so it works with Claude, ChatGPT, Codex, Gemini, or whatever you move to next. It captures only when asked. It never records, never clicks, never types, and its state is always in the menu bar. Captures go to the assistant that asked, and nowhere else.

DesktopAudio - Record what your Mac plays. Local files, no cloud.

DesktopAudio records whatever your Mac is playing and saves it as an m4a on your Mac. Podcasts, live streams, webinars, calls: if you can hear it, you can keep it. Local always: local recording, local files, no cloud, no account. It never touches your microphone and never asks for mic permission. It's also the missing half of macOS screen recording: Cmd+Shift+5 captures video but no system audio. Run DesktopAudio alongside it and you have both. $19 one-time. No subscription.
