The woman behind this side project has written a book, based on her experience running an agency. Check it out!

I reviewed proofs of this new book. It fills a big gap in the market by offering clear guidance on what a successful UX or product designer needs to do, but doesn't reduce the work to over-simplified templates or quickly-outdated tools. I believe it will prove valuable to new designers and others hoping to understand how it's done in the real world, and is also a good resource for those of us...

Full disclosure: our agency worked on the app design for this product. Based on using prototypes, I can say it's impressive what they've managed to do here with battery life and always-on video buffering. It's like a GoPro for parties or other contexts where you only want to capture sharable clips, not hours of footage.

Wow, so much hate here. It's a Wall of Shame, it offends by design. Look elsewhere for participation trophies for the rest of the world. Every case here is an example of how not to handle GDPR gracefully, with the possible exception of Oath, who receives scrutiny only for the ridiculous breadth of their data sharing.

UI looks great, like a modern version of Tumblr but with the flexibility of power tools like Squarespace. But aside from all the "own domain" requests here, please support the IndieWeb protocols! This would pair very nicely with Micro.blog (as a subset of Caramella content that's more social) and the technical effort is low.

Small, geeky community. Growth will be constrained by the DIY aspect, but that's part of the point. Pros: Reminds me of Twitter circa 2007 Cons: Reminds me of Twitter circa 2007

The "I don't get why this is useful" comments here are exactly what I would hope to see when Dries and Product Hunt meet. π I have a feature request: I'd like a "drain my battery" option to waste as much energy as possible so I can chat.

Seeing as how I live in the "just tourists" part of your original Amsterdam map and our design agency is even deeper within it β¦ I'm not sure I want another platform for people to publish their opinions. ;-)

The "self-maintaining" nature of integrations here are something I was beginning to build myself, not as a product but from desperation. I've been waiting 3 years for this.

I love what they're doing with this, but since most icon sets are published as SVG these days, Iconjar must compete with the free-but-capable SVGsus: https://www.producthunt.com/posts/svgsus-2

The retro 80's video soundtrack might have been cool if it seemed intentional. Glad to see them highlight e.g. Spotify instead of only Google services!

Fast changing is cool. Otherwise this is a great answer to last year's iPhone, of course, so is this year's iPhone. This will make the same big splash every Google-branded flagship has: keeping the faithful content that this race is neck-to-neck. Apple's turn to do something special with their increasing silicon advantage, eh?
