A while ago, I kept getting failed deliveries and "return to sender" issues in my Shopify store. Most of the time, it was because of small address mistakes from customers missing house numbers, wrong postal codes, PO boxes in restricted areas, etc.
So I built Address Validation iO (AViO) a lightweight app that checks and validates addresses directly in the Shopify checkout. It s helped reduce shipping issues a lot and has saved us from refund headaches.
Would love your feedback if you ve dealt with similar problems or ideas on how to improve it. Also curious: How do you handle bad address entries in your store?
We run a few Shopify stores and kept seeing the same problem: customers entering invalid or incomplete shipping addresses. That led to failed deliveries, returns, and annoyed buyers.
So we built a simple Shopify app that validates addresses right at checkout.
We ve been working on a small but helpful tool called Address Validation iO it adds a quick address check at checkout to catch missing house numbers, invalid formats, or PO boxes before customers place their order.
After seeing a bunch of Shopify brands struggle with failed shipments (and expensive resends), we built this to make shipping smoother without slowing down conversion.
I d love to hear what other people are using to reduce bad addresses or cut down on fulfillment mistakes or if this is even something you ve run into?
Happy to share what we ve learned from the stores already using it.
Hi all! I recently launched a Shopify app called Address Validation iO, and I d love to share what it does and get your feedback if you run a Shopify store.
What it solves:
Customers often enter incorrect or incomplete shipping addresses, which causes failed deliveries, support tickets, and refund requests. This app validates and auto-corrects addresses before the order is placed.
We built Address Validation iO to solve a surprisingly expensive problem: failed deliveries and customer complaints due to wrong shipping addresses.
It's a simple app that automatically corrects typos, invalid ZIP codes, and missing info at checkout right inside your Shopify store. No setup headaches. Just install, customize, and go.
I m one of the makers of Address Validation iO, a Shopify app that helps prevent failed deliveries by catching address errors before fulfillment.
It started out of frustration with customer service tickets caused by typos and undeliverable addresses. Since launch, we've helped stores cut down support time, refunds, and shipping costs.
If you're running a Shopify store and have struggled with address issues, I d love to hear what you ve tried, what worked, or what didn t. Also happy to answer questions about building on the Shopify App Store or anything around shipping ops.

We ve been working on a small Shopify app called Address Validation iO that solves a common but costly problem for ecommerce stores: failed deliveries caused by incorrect shipping addresses
Most merchants only realize there s a problem once a package gets returned or a support ticket shows up. We wanted to help fix that earlier, so we built a tool that checks addresses in real time during checkout and suggests fixes if something looks off
It s easy to install, works globally , and is already helping stores reduce reshipments and support load.
As we ve talked to more Shopify merchants and DTC teams, one pattern keeps coming up, small UX issues at checkout or signup often turn into unexpected support tickets or operational costs.
I m part of the team behind Address Validation iO, a Shopify app we built to solve a surprisingly common and costly issue: customers entering incorrect shipping addresses during checkout.
We started working on this after seeing how many merchants were losing time and money to failed deliveries, returns, and frustrated support tickets. What we learned is that many stores try to fix this after the order is placed but by then, it s already a problem.
So we built something simple: an app that checks the address in real time, as the customer types, and prompts them to fix errors before placing the order. Since launch, stores using it have seen fewer failed shipments and a drop in delivery-related support requests.
Address Validation iO helps Shopify merchants reduce failed deliveries by validating and correcting shipping addresses in real time. The app checks customer input at checkout and provides instant suggestions to fix typos, missing data, or formatting issues.
